Overview
Allianz China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. is jointly invested by the German financial service conglomerate, Allianz SE, and CITIC Trust & Investment Co., Ltd. of China and officially opened in Shanghai on January 25th, 1999.
Combining the best of international risk management and local capital management and financial know-how, Allianz China Life has won a strong reputation for professional service, tailor-made products and successful distribution channels. To meet the evolving needs of its customers, the joint venture offers all lines of life, investment, education, health and accident insurance products and services to individual and group customers through agency team, as well as bancassurance, broker and agency company, and direct sales.
Business Result
In 2006, Allianz China Life developed rapidly and made a remarkable performance among all the foreign insurers in China. Due to the fast growth of multi-distribution mode, the gross written premiums exceeded one billion Chinese yuan for the first time and reached 1.2 billion yuan, increasing by more than 300 percent compared to the previous year. Bancassurance is the leading channel, and it has over 1,000 banks outlets across the country and makes a turnover of 880 million yuan, a No. 2 grade among the foreign insurers.
In the first half year of 2007, the company’s revenue exceeded 1.3 billion yuan, an increase of 170% compared to last year. Allianz China Life is among top insurance joint ventures in China.
