FC Bayern Munich’s 168,000 members make it one of the largest sport clubs in the world with an impressive sportive performance. Allianz has reinforced its sponsorship commitment to FC Bayern in the form of a comprehensive sponsorship package up to 2010.

The Allianz Arena has been Bayern Munich’s home since May 2005. The ties between the football club and the Allianz Group have been further strengthened through a premium partnership between the two institutions.

With more than 168,000 members, Bayern Munich is one of the top five sporting clubs in the world in terms of membership size. The club’s successes include a record 22 German league titles and 15 DFB Cup (German Cup) titles. In 2001, they won the Champions League, to go with three triumphs in the European Cup. Bayern’s success has extended beyond Europe too, as they have twice been crowned World Club champions (1976, 2001). Since their promotion to Germany’s Bundesliga 1 in 1965, the club has been ever present in the top flight and leads the all-time points table by an impressive margin of over 500.

The partnership between the Allianz Group and Bayern Munich is underpinned by the concept of corporate citizenship at national level. But both partners also have much in common at international level: The Allianz Group as a provider of international financial services in the insurance, asset management and banking sector; Bayern Munich as a global brand with a strong international focus in the world of football.

Firmly established among the elite of European football, the club’s future ambitions are every bit as impressive as its illustrious past. Having invested heavily in new players for the coming season, Bayern are looking forward to an exciting season. With high-profile new arrivals such as Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng and Rafinha coming in to complement experienced professionals such as Bastian Schweinsteiger and Phillip Lahm under the guidance of a new coaching team headed by Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Munich fans have every reason to be optimistic going into the new season.
